Layne Quotes

“I don’t take part in it the way I used to..the bimbos, the free beers, free drugs, all that. That’s still there if you want it, but I don’t really seek that out any more.”
Layne Staley, 1991
“We were on tour and the songs on Sap were songs that we had written…and Sean, during the process of working on these songs, had a dream that we had recorded these songs. And since they were a little bit milder than the rest of our material, in his dream the record was called “Sap,” because it was sappy.”
Layne Staley, 1994
“People have a right to ask questions and dig deep when you’re hurting people and things around you, but when I haven’t talked to anybody in years, and every article I see is dope this, junkie that, whiskey this -that ain’t my title….My bad habits aren’t my title. My strengths and my talent are my title.”
Layne Staley, 1996

Mad Season – River Of Deceit

Despite not having a single song completely prepared (only beginnings of songs, according to Martin) and not even having a name for the band, McCready scheduled an unannounced show at the Crocodile Cafe in October 1994, which turned out to be a big success. The song "Artificial Red", which was also to appear on the album, actually came together during the show itself.

People always ask me questions about Demri.. like what she liked.. so I thought I’d talk about some of the things I remember that she liked..Demri was a HUGE fan of the Cocteau Twins and if you’ve never heard their music I recommend checking them out. I love them too. She also liked the Cure, […]

Layne tid bits..

Layne tid bits..

He liked to make people laugh and he could be extremely silly at times and then at other times quiet and introverted… he was very down to earth..you never would of known he was famous or whatever unless of course you knew who he was. He didn’t dress in expensive clothes, drive expensive cars…
